Soo Line Boxcar and Missouri Pacific Gondola

Missouri Pacific

This Missouri Pacific gondola is from a Suncoast Models kit I found years ago and finally got around to building it recently.  These gondola kits were very well done for an unusual MOPAC car.  I did add additional detail to the car's underframe and have built the car to operate on my three rail layout.  The Stupp Steel signs were a little idea I had from the Stupp Steel Company which is still part of the South St. Louis landscape.  Stupp Steel shipped many loads of steel out on the MOPAC line that passed through the south side of St. Louis.  They often posted the signs on the sides of the loads as they left the plant whether by rail or by truck.  The load is sections of girders that would go to a large building such as a smelter or metal refining plant which I have modeled on my layout.

Soo Line Boxcar

This Soo Line boxcar is a resurrection of an old All-Nation kit that I found.  It had been built, but had several problems and mistakes that had to be removed before it could be rebuilt with the correct equipment.  I used several detail parts from Selley Custom Finishes, Keil-Line, Cal-Scale and Walthers.  The car itself has been built to operate on my three rail layout.  This particular car is a model of the billboard scheme using the later PS-1 boxcars that were delivered to the Soo Line in the early 1950's.

Stay tuned for more models as we build them.

I'm ALIVE!!!!!!

Hello everyone,
Sorry that I have been away for so long, my son who runs the blog, his computer decided to crash on him and took all the data with it so he had to reset all the passwords and information.

Now that he has gotten his problem fixed I am ready to show you the large coble of trains that I have built. Stay tuned.
